By using this website or joining the waitlist, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use this site.
About Bitcoin Witness
Bitcoin Witness is an air-gapped Bitcoin verification layer, a set of plain-text scripts that turns any supported Raspberry Pi hardware into a hardened offline verification device. The project is pre-launch as of the date on this page.
Bitcoin Witness is not a wallet. It does not hold or custody Bitcoin. It is not a financial institution, a securities broker, or a financial adviser. The free companion tool xpubverify is MIT-licensed and available at github.com/BitcoinWitness/xpubverify. The full station is source-available, auditable plaintext.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use this site. By submitting the waitlist form or completing a purchase, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist creates no obligations on either side. We will send occasional product updates and announcements to your email address. During an active launch period, expect no more than one email per month on average. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, or by emailing hello (at) bitcoinwitness.org.
No financial advice
Nothing on this site, in our emails, or in our product is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Bitcoin self-custody carries real risks, including the permanent loss of funds if you lose access to your seed phrase or make errors during transactions. We describe how our tools work. We do not advise you on whether to use them, how much Bitcoin to hold, how to structure your estate, or any other decision that depends on your personal circumstances.
You are responsible for your own decisions. If you need financial or legal advice, consult a qualified professional.
No warranty
The public xpubverify tool is provided "as is" under the MIT license, without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Verification is a tool. It does not guarantee that your Bitcoin is safe. A Confidence Report from Bitcoin Witness does not protect against user error, loss of your seed phrase, a compromised host machine during setup, or threats outside the five boundaries described in our threat model at /security.

Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bitcoin Witness and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of Bitcoin, loss of data, or loss of business, arising from your use of this site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of our products is limited to USD 0,01.
Intellectual property
Site content, including text, design, and graphics, is copyright Bitcoin Witness. The free xpubverify tool is MIT-licensed: you can use, modify, and distribute it freely under the terms of that license.
Third-party services
When you join the waitlist, your email address is processed by Netlify (hosting and form intake) and Buttondown (email delivery). These are our sub-processors. For the full list and the data they receive, see the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will notify subscribers by email before the changes take effect.
Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bitcoin Witness regarding use of this site.
